Cobalt Power Systems Inc partnered with Wunder Power to complete the Waterfront Plaza Solar installation, one of the largest commercial systems our team has built. The project called for 554 high-efficiency solar modules and a rooftop that wasn't built with solar in mind. It also called for a level of coordination our commercial crew doesn't take on every day. We got it done, and we're proud of every part of it.
If your business is considering solar for a commercial property, our team can walk you through what a project like this entails, from the first site visit to the final walkthrough.

A Rooftop That Demanded Precision
Commercial rooftops rarely make solar easy, and Waterfront Plaza's roof added its own set of challenges. The site came with structural quirks, tight access points, and safety and regulatory requirements that had to be met at every stage of the build. That meant our engineering and project management teams stayed in constant contact through design, permitting, and installation, checking every calculation against the realities of the site instead of a standard template.
One detail mattered more than most. Because of the site's location and the scale of the array going on top of it, our engineers designed special footings to anchor the system against seismic movement.
554 Modules, One System, Real Output
Once the engineering was finalized, our crews installed all 554 high-efficiency modules and tied them into a single working system. Coordinating that many components on one commercial roof takes sequencing as much as it takes installation skill, and our in-house engineering and CAD teams managed every phase, keeping the schedule on track without cutting a corner on workmanship.
Here's the number that matters: about 349,000 kWh of clean electricity every year. That means lower operating costs for Waterfront Plaza and a real step toward the property's sustainability goals. It's the kind of number that makes a complicated project worth every bit of the coordination it took.
What This Project Means for Bay Area Businesses
Waterfront Plaza Solar shows what our commercial team can handle: a demanding rooftop, a tight technical spec, and a partner in Wunder Power that pushed the project forward with us at every stage. If your business has been told your roof is too complicated for solar, or you just want to know what a project like this could look like on your property, we'd like to talk with you about it. Cobalt Power Systems Inc takes on complex jobs, and we're ready for the next one!
