With more than 450 solar system installations under his belt, Ron Lykins has earned the title of Senior System Designer at Cobalt Power Systems Inc. and rightfully so. Ron, who has been with Cobalt for more than nine years – and has the most grey hair – came to the company with real-world experience having owned and operated a data processing service for contractors for 25 years.
Ron specializes in building relationships with home builders and working with homeowners to design aesthetically pleasing solar systems, using his in-depth knowledge and creativity to come up with net-zero solutions for household electricity needs. "I have seen a lot of changes in the industry in my years," Ron says, and “I look forward to new changes such as adding storage to PV systems in the development of micro grids.” A significant portion of his projects are new construction designs from plans.
Ron loves the outdoors: skiing, hiking and photography are his hobbies. He is also active in the local community, serving as president of the Cupertino and Los Gatos Rotary Clubs.
